Absolutely an amazing time! Rick was friendly and very knowledgeable about the area, with added insights only a local would know! He was able to customize our experience for exactly what we wanted to do and prioritize timing and current weather conditions for the best results. We even saw several Orca whales including two Moms with babies! Would book again. His boat was also very clean and comfortable with great indoor and outdoor spaces, both with room to move around.

We had a fantastic experience with Rick Jarvill and Coastal Tours Sitka! Rick was incredibly friendly and welcoming, especially with our kids, which made the tour even more enjoyable for our family. His heated boat was a huge plus, providing comfort during the ride, and having a bathroom on board was a great convenience. The highlight was definitely seeing the whales—it was unforgettable. We also really appreciated hearing Rick’s stories and insights about life in Sitka from a local perspective. It was a memorable and personal touch to an already amazing tour and we would highly recommend booking a tour with Coastal Tours Sitka.

Rick was an awesome guide. His boat was super clean and he was extremely knowledgeable and kind. As a local he knows where to find the whales, bears and otters. The highlight of our trip. Highly recommend.

My family and I had such a wonderful experience with Captain Rick in Sitka! We learned so much from our tour, and he even explained to us about the fishing boats and how they catch fish from his experience working in the industry. We saw so many whales and had some close encounters which was absolutely amazing. He took us around to see as many wildlife as possible to make our trip worthwhile and the boat was spacious and comfortable for the 5 of us. I’d recommend this tour to anyone visiting Sitka. support small local businesses!

Wow!! This was such a great tour!! I saw sea lions, otters, eagles, and whales.The boat is so nice and a great comfortable ride. Captain Rick is a native Sitkan and very knowledgeable about the area. Thank you Coastal Tours for such a fabulous afternoon on the water in beautiful Sitka! It was perfect!

Hands down our favorite tour we did on our Alaskan cruise. Captain Rick was amazing. Very family friendly, I was nervous my 4 year old would terrify him but he’s a family guy and was super patient in slowing down and making sure we got to see whales. Our toddler also fell asleep about half way through the tour and he had the perfect spot to catch a snooze aboard the Goleta! His boat is SO clean, tidy and comfortable (& bathroom on board). Highly recommend for small groups. He is an Alaskan native so it was really cool to hear about life in Sitka, he made me want to move there. We saw whales, eagles, otters, salmon and amazing scenery. Highly recommend! His wife also creates these amazing post cards which we already have framed in the house- ensure you grab a few!

Rick was an awesome guide and very informative! He knew exactly where to go to view wildlife. We saw salmon jumping, brown bears, whales, eagles, and sea otters. He was also great with our 5-year-old! His boat is spotless and comfortable and there were snacks and water bottles provided. Great experience!!!

We had a great time going whale watching in Sitka, Alaska with Rick! His boat was wonderful and comfortable and we appreciated it being a small group of people. It was well worth what we paid for. We saw whales, bears, otters, eagles, and so much more! Rick was kind and super knowledgeable about Sitka and the fishing scene with his experience. If we come to Sitka we absolutely would take this tour again with Rick!

Our tour with Captain Rick was on the last day of our 2-week trip to Alaska and we absolutely saved the best for last! Rick personalized our tour to what we wanted to see and was extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife in Sitka. We saw tons of humpback whales, sea lions, otters, baby eagles, and even a bear catching salmon on the shoreline! Rick's boat is very comfortable and allows for some incredible views. He also grew up in Sitka so hearing his perspective made this tour all the more interesting. I could not recommend Coastal Tours more, amazing experience!! :)

We had an amazing whale watching tour with Rick and Coastal Tours Sitka! The weather was absolutely perfect, and Rick knew exactly where to take us for the best viewing. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the animals and the area, which made the experience both fun and educational. We saw so much wildlife—whales, sea lions, otters, and salmon. The boat was the perfect size, very clean, and even had snacks and water available. There was a covered area on board, though with such beautiful weather we didn’t need it. This was truly a highlight of our trip to Sitka, and I’d highly recommend Rick and Coastal Tours to anyone visiting!
